Carlos Santamaria, Head of Market Unit at Comviva, gave a talk at the CTO Insights Bogota event entitled "The Future of Finance is Fintech: Innovation, Security and Global Access". In his presentation, Santamaria explored how fintech innovation is reshaping the global financial landscape, emphasizing the importance of security and expanded access to financial services through advanced digital technologies.
During the talk, he highlighted several innovative use cases implemented worldwide, such as interoperability between wallets and banks, integrations for international remittances, and super-application functionalities that offer more than 5,000 services and integrations. Santamaria argued that these innovations not only improve the efficiency of financial transactions but also open new channels of financial access to previously unbanked populations.
In addition, Santamaria shared specific examples of deployments in different regions, including Europe, LATAM, Asia Pacific and Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa, showing how localized adaptation of fintech technologies can overcome traditional barriers such as fragmented payment systems and lack of banking infrastructure. His presentation highlighted the critical importance of fintech innovation as an engine for global financial growth and inclusion.
